A rustle of leaves. A gentle breeze where none ought be. Unseen footfalls and a distracting noise. These, the only indications that there was some person and not some mysticism causing the appearance of a short note tacked to the door frame.

"Dearest compatriots of the Republic,

Do not worry for my absence from fellowship, for I am safe and well and engaged on pressing business of necessity in the service of our great Republic. Though I miss the safety and company of our companionships, this mission is one that can not be shared. Trust in this: Mitra willing, I will return in less than a fortnight.
